November 28, 2022

You can now discover and shop for Greek diaspora brands at an online virtual shopping event, “H Plateia.” The event returns for the second year and runs from November 30-December 3. Plateia, which translates in Greek to the town square, aims to bring together diverse diaspora makers whose products celebrate and/or are made in Greece. During the event, shoppers will have a 15% discount site-wide across all participating shops. Click here for your discount code.

H Plateia is organized by Kristina Headrick, founder of Greek wellness brand Yia Mas, and Julie Karatzis, founder of Cartoules Press. The two share an ethos and a similar vision to unite diaspora creators across the country. Karatzis explains, “Greeks are spread out everywhere, so we created H Plateia as a virtual event to bring us all together. We wanted to give customers a discount to use during their holiday shopping, but more importantly, promote and support like-minded brands who celebrate our Greek culture.”

Of the curation, Headrick adds, “We’re excited to have so many incredible brands on board. It’s intentional that we chose everyone from a Virginia-based artist (Theodora Miller) to one of the first shops to carry Greek wares in America going back to the 80s (So Blue Greek Ceramics).”

Participating vendors include Rare Cut, So Blue Greek Ceramics, Selini, Theodora Miller Fine Art, Greece Media, Popella Shop, Taste and Art of Greece, Laiik, The Akia Shop, Mr. Pete’s, The Foules, Cartoules Press, and Yia Mas.
