The fourth annual Reaching for the Stars fundraiser in Toronto will have a bit of NBA star power attached this year.

Thanks to the generosity of Milwaukee Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo a signed basketball jersey will be up for auction at the event on November 2.

Toronto native Voula McLaughlin started the charity event that supports abandoned children in Greece through SOS Childrens Villages because she felt the need to give back to society in some way to thank the universe for those who showed her father generosity.

To date, she and her supporters in Toronto have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars that have been donated to SOS over the past three years.

Voula visits SOS Childrens Villages in Greece at least twice a year and reports back to donors about the progress of their money and how it is helping impact the lives of some of Greece’s most vulnerable children.

As a result of her efforts, she’s been named an official SOS Children’s Ambassador.

For Giannis, supporting Voula and SOS was a natural fit. The basketball giant is a regular supporter of his home country. He welcomed Voula into the Milwaukee Bucks locker room to present her with the signed jersey that will be on auction at the event in Toronto.

In addition to sponsoring and attending the event, through SOS Canada, Voula is accepting donations here.
