The birth of Venus or the birth of… penis?

A Greek-inspired beauty brand for men, which includes a creme designed specifically for penises, has dropped just in time for the holiday season. Called Beau D., the brand identifies as a beauty line for men. In calling it a beauty line, Beau D. hopes to smash the stereotype that beauty products are only for women-identified folks and promote “the unapologetic ethos of masculine beauty.”

Beau D. is the brainchild of Brandon Palas, who’s worked for such household names as Teen Vogue, Men’s Vogue, Architectural Digest, and the Los Angeles Times Magazine. Palas’ background in editorial and design informs so much of the brand ethos and its incredible visual identity. From beautiful (yet funny)  imagery to a tiny sperm symbol serving as the cursor on Beau D.’s website, no capital D detail was overlooked. Palas is of predominantly Greek and Danish descent, with a Greek-American upbringing familiar to many diaspora Greeks. He grew up going to church every Sunday with his Yiayia and Pappou–St. Nicholas in Tacoma, WA, where he served as an altar boy. Palas also attended All Saints Camp (Gig Harbor, WA) and Greek danced for years, competing at Greek folk dance competitions. Growing up, he spent a month in Loutraki every few summers.

Beau D. currently carries a lip salve and a cream for penises called D Cream. The D Cream serves as a specialty daily moisturizer meant to help you “service your private parts… for maximum moisture, smoothness, and potency.” The formulations contain herbal extracts for virility, such as Dong Quai, Horny Goat Weed, and He Shou Wu (commonly used in Chinese medicine), as well as natural extracts, including Coral Weed, Ivy Gourd, and Eggplant Fruit.

Beau D.’s Creme

“My vision for Beau D. emerged from a profound sense that the men’s skincare business was not keeping pace with evolving cultural attitudes regarding gender and beauty. Drawing on extensive research, I created Beau D. to appeal to modern, enlightened men of every age.”
