CorePower Yoga Instructors to Lead Wellness Retreat in Mykonos

The Greek America Foundation’s new Homecoming Journeys program is expanding into wellness travel with a weeklong yoga retreat in Mykonos led by two instructors from CorePower Yoga.

The Mykonos Wellness Retreat will take place September 14–20, 2026, bringing participants to one of Greece’s most iconic islands for a week of yoga, movement, food, culture and connection.

The retreat will be led by Dave Porter and Beth O’Reilly, both experienced yoga instructors from CorePower Yoga.

The program is part of Homecoming Journeys, a new travel initiative created by the Greek America Foundation to offer intimate, curated experiences in Greece that go beyond conventional tourism. The journeys are designed to connect travelers more deeply to the country through culture, food, history, storytelling, hospitality and personal encounters.

The Mykonos retreat will be based at a private luxury villa estate on the island and will include daily yoga, curated meals and culinary lessons and stories and cultural and Greek-inspired lifestyle moments designed to introduce guests to the rhythms and traditions of Greek life and thousands of years of wellness living.

The retreat is a blend of wellness and cultural immersion, with yoga serving as the anchor of the week and Greece providing the broader setting for rest, reflection and connection.

Throughout the retreat, Gregory Pappas, founder of the Greek America Foundation and publisher of The Pappas Post, will help weave Greek history, mythology, language, food and tradition into the experience.

“This is not simply about going to Greece and doing yoga in a beautiful place,” Pappas said. “It is about slowing down long enough to understand why Greece has always been a place people return to for light, clarity, beauty, hospitality and meaning.”

The retreat will also include optional experiences around Mykonos, giving participants the chance to encounter the island beyond its well-known reputation for nightlife and summer glamour. Excursions include opportunities connected to local food, the sea, village traditions and the island’s older cultural rhythms, as well as the sunsets the Greek islands are known for.

Homecoming Journeys was launched by the Greek America Foundation as a way to create small-group travel experiences rooted in authenticity and access. The program’s first announced journey features chef and author Mina Stone, who will lead a culinary journey to Western Crete in October 2026.

The Mykonos Wellness Retreat marks the program’s first announced wellness-focused experience.
