President Barack Obama received a private tour of the Acropolis during his official trip to Athens.
He shared his experience of visiting the Parthenon on his personal Facebook page, and added the following commentary to the video post:
“On my last overseas trip as president, I finally had the opportunity to visit Greece and take in the beautiful history of this country. Standing at the Acropolis, in the birthplace of democracy and the democratic values we hold dear as Americans, you gain perspective on the importance of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people – and how people, no matter what nation we belong to, will decide the kind of countries we will be, the ideals we’ll keep reaching for, and the values that will define us.”

What a sobering and inspirational end to my favorite President. I am a 66 year old Norwegian American with a 4 year degree from a prestigious University in Washington state. My husband and myself love you. He is a first generation Greek man born here. His parents struggled and eventually sent his 2 sisters and him to college. His father was a World War I veteran. Our son is a Professor and Scientist from the same Universit your wonder VP graduated from. U of Delaware. We will continue to uphold your entire family with positive thoughts and prayers. Thank you and our wonder FOTUS for your accomplishments and selfless service ??
