The U.S.-based Order of the Sons of Pericles has announced an international campaign to celebrate its upcoming 100th anniversary in February 2026.
The campaign, titled “SOP 100,” will focus on preserving the Sons of Pericles’ history, growing and re-invigorating membership and fundraising for several educational and philanthropic initiatives. The organization has set a fundraising goal of $100,000 to support activities related to its centennial.
Celebrations will include limited edition commemorative merchandise and events throughout the year culminating in a “Preserving the Past” weekend from January 30 through February 1, 2026. The gathering will take place in Manchester, New Hampshire, where the organization was founded.
The group is inviting members and alumni, AHEPA family members and supporters from across the international Greek community to participate in a weekend full of reunions, tributes and an unveiling of historical exhibits.
The “SOP 100” campaign aims to document the Sons of Pericles’ history by collecting and digitizing historical archives including newspaper clippings and original artifacts from the life of the 1920s Greek American community.
Celebratory events throughout the year will focus on cities with historical significance to the organization such as Manchester, New Hampshire; Detroit, Michigan; Akron, Ohio and others. To increase its presence and promote membership, the Sons of Pericles will also plan special initiations for new members, expand to new locations and re-activate current members.
The Sons of Pericles also plans to collaborate with other organizations to create a cohesive voice for the next generation of the Greek diaspora and preserve its motto of “Heritage, Service, Brotherhood.”
The Sons of Pericles was founded in 1926 and has since impacted communities worldwide. The organization aims to promote leadership development, professional networking, civic responsibility and philanthropy, and has helped thousands of members develop into successful business owners, academics, philanthropists and more. The Sons of Pericles has raised more than $1 million over the years to support various charitable causes.
