A Facebook post by an undertaker in Crete has gone viral, poking fun at the American consumer shopping phenomenon of Black Friday.

Konstantinos Bounakis in Iraklio posted a special offer for his business, offering a 50% discount on funeral services on Black Friday.

The post– obviously an attempt to troll the American tradition that is now spreading around the world– including to Greece– has been picked up by dozens of newspapers and media throughout Greece and the world.

One man commented on the post, “We should hurry up and die so we can get the discount!”
