Yiannis Boutaris, the controversial and unorthodox mayor of Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, made headlines earlier this year when he was beaten up by a group of right-wing nationalists.
Boutaris is unafraid to speak his mind even if it makes him enemies or goes against the status quo.
He has won the admiration of many for his attempts to turn his city’s economic fortunes around and build its future.
He joined The Agenda with Steve Paikin to discuss his life and work.
