Tens of thousands of defiant Greeks took to the streets of Athens and elsewhere in the country in a show of support to their newly elected government’s efforts to bring an end to the debt crisis as the members of the Euro Group meet in Brussels to discuss the fate of Greece.

An estimated 20,000 people marched in Syntagma Square in central Athens.

Similar marches in solidarity with the people of Greece took place in Rome, Paris, London and other European capitals.
