American Airlines Adding New Nonstop Flight Dallas and Athens

The largest airline in the United States, American Airlines, has announced it will add a new nonstop flight from its Dallas/Ft. Worth hub, to Athens, Greece, beginning in May 2026.

If its current schedule remains the same in 2026, this will be the airline’s fifth daily nonstop flight from the United States, providing nonstop flights from more U.S. cities to Greece than any other airline. American currently operates nonstop flights to Athens from Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago and Charlotte, NC.

The new service will commence on May 21, 2026. The flight will depart Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport (DFW) at 4:00pm local time and arrive at Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens at 11:40am the following day, local time in Athens.

From Athens, the daily flight will depart at 11:05am and arrive at Dallas/Ft. Worth at 4:30pm local time.

The flight will be served by a Boeing 787-8 aircraft which has a total capacity of 234 passengers, split among four different classes of service.

Details were announced by the airline in an official press announcement, which also announced new flights to other European cities.
