Athens mayor Giorgos Kaminis has officially launched a clean up campaign aiming to beautify the city and the first target is the excessive graffiti that is everywhere.
Kaminis says that graffiti is a “smudge” on the city and contributes to negative impressions of residents and foreign tourists, alike.
The first target of the campaign were the walls around Athens’ main cemetery, followed by the area around Panepistimiou Avenue.
The first five photos of the clean up effort from Lifo Magazine.
