Taco Bell to Open First Restaurant in Athens this Summer

Taco Bell will mark its return to Greece with new locations opening in Athens in the summer of 2025, reintroducing one of the most recognizable U.S. fast-food chains to Greeks.

The exact opening date and location of the inaugural Athens outlet are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but Greek media reports that the first Taco Bell will open in Chalandri, a northern suburb of Athens, while a second will eventually open in The Mall Athens located in the nearby suburb of Marousi. Additional openings in Athens’ southern suburbs are also planned in the future.

The Taco Bell franchise in Greece will be operated by Food Plus S.A., a company with more than 30 years of experience in the food industry and already a franchisee of KFC.

“At Taco Bell, we are globally known for bold tastes and unique experiences of enjoyment we provide at our restaurants,” said Taco Bell UK & Europe Chief Marketing Officer Chet Patel speaking to Kathimerini English. “We are enthusiastic to bring Taco Bell to Greece and eagerly await to connect with Greek fans of street food,” he added.

This is not the first time that the U.S. fast food giant operated in Athens. Taco Bell’s initial foray into the Greek market began in 2010 at the third floor of the Athens Metro Mall, but ended two years later in 2012.
