The circumstances are no different then from now. War has displaced millions of people and Europe is the epicenter, with waves of people moving en masse to safer destinations, away from war zones and destruction.
They say “history repeats itself”. This photo comparison of the refugee crisis then– and now, proves it. All photo comparisons contain two photos– one when Europeans were refugees during and immediately after World War II, the other from the current refugee crisis that has brought millions of Syrians, Afghanis and others to Europe’s shores.
The similarities between some of the circumstances of the two photos is astonishing.
