Basketball Star Giannis Antetokounmpo in New York City for Cosmos FM 30th Anniversary Events

Marking its 30th anniversary, Hellenic Public Radio will invite Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and his family to New York on Sunday, June 4 for “Greek Freak Week,” a day of events filled with basketball, fun, and Hellenism.

The day will begin 10:30 a.m. at Adelphi University with the “Feel Greek” sports event, where Antetokounmpo and his brother Thanasis, a Liga ACB Basketball player, will coach Greek American youth during exhibition games.

In addition to the “AntetokounBros,” stars of the Greek national basketball team Panagiotis Fasoulas (1987) and Michael Kakiouzis (2005) will also provide instruction.

Following the athletics, a 7 p.m. awards gala will take place at Flushing’s “Terrace on the Park,” honoring Antetokounmpo parents Charles and Veronica for raising their four children with Hellenic values, ideals, and standards. Awards will be presented to other special guests as well.

HPR – Cosmos FM is the only daily, bilingual non-commercial Greek radio program in the NY Metropolitan Area.

It features an array of 20-plus programs in Greek and English, including local, national and international news; news from Greece and Cyprus; and programs on politics, science, social issues, religion, health, finance, music, the arts, sports, and community affairs.
