Star Wars Meets Classical Greece: How One Artist Merges His Two Passions

What happens when an artist merges two of his passions? Simple. A really cool mashup.

In this case, French graphic artist Travis Durden transforms his favorite Star Wars characters into Ancient Greek statues, merging his love for the sci-fi film institution with Greek history.

Recently on display at Galerie Sakura in Paris and making the rounds on social media newsfeeds throughout the world, Durden’s images have captivated classics lovers and Star Wars fans alike.

Burden started his project by taking photos of classical statues at his hometown museum, the Louvre.

He then superimposed Star Wars characters and worked meticulously with a graphics team to get to the end result.
