Poor George Papadopoulos (No, Not the Trump Advisor that was Arrested)

To Greeks, George Papadopoulos is like Bob Smith.

Practically everyone I know knows a “George Papadopoulos.”

George Papadopoulos was the president of my hometown church in Pittsburgh. In college I knew not one, but two George Papadopouloses.

Today, “George Papadopoulos” is the most talked about man in America after he was arrested for lying to the FBI about the Trump campaign and the Russians… Not the president of my church or the two college buddies… but another George Papadopoulos who served the Trump campaign as a foreign policy adviser.

The “internet”… or better put, those internet users who aren’t that well-versed in Greek names and the ubiquity of “George Papadopoulos” in Greek circles, have… well… targeted the wrong George Papadopoulos.

Poor George Papadopoulos… a financial planner from suburban Detroit who happens to be in Greece visiting his mom.

He’s pleading with Twitter users to leave him alone, telling them that he’s the wrong George Papadopoulos.

Some don’t buy it and think he’s lying.

Actually there are several who don’t buy poor George’s story… and it’s kind of funny.

And the best advice ever?
