In a sometimes-surreal interview with Greek television news channel Antenna, Antonios Pagourtzis, the father of the accused school shooter in Texas said that his son wasn’t a criminal, but a victim.
His comment came during a telephone interview that the network broadcast on their newscast in Greece.
The bewildered father, whose voice was trembling during the telephone interview, told the reporter that he “felt the pain” of the other victims’ families because he felt the same pain. “I have a funeral too.”
Pagourtzis denied any responsibility in his son’s murderous rampage that killed ten people in a Texas school, criticizing people who said that there was blood on his guns.
“The guns were clean,” Pagourtzis said in the interview, adding that he as hurt that a lot of the negative press about him was coming from his homeland, Greece.
But the most shocking statement in the interview was when the grieving father stated categorically that his son wasn’t a criminal— but, in fact, a victim. He blamed others who may have “bothered” his son, whom he described as a strong kid.
The complete interview (in Greek) with Antonios Pagourtzis is available on Antenna News’ website here.

The father…refusing to take responsibility for his son both before the shooting, and after.
The kid was a victim of extreme BULLYING, take that into account
Eisai malakas paidi mou?
ALLEGEDLY. And even IF there was bullying involved thats still no feckin exscuse to KILL someone
Extreme bullying? You dumb M effer. He killed innocent kids. F you John. If you think bullying needs to be taken into account, you are a dumb piece of shot (and, yes, I know I spelled that incorrectly). Hurt feelings doesn’t ever excuse mass murder. That fact idiots like you even take that into consideration means we’re doomed to have more of it.
VICTIM MY ASS!!!—He gave access to his murderer son the guns that slaughtered innocent children!!! Not only is he delusional, he’s a f#&%ing criminal who should be in jail with his evil spawn!
Many people have suffered a form of
emotional abuse but we don’t go killing
people!
What extreme bullying? He sexually harrassed a young woman for months until she finally had to shame him in public, so his solution was to kill her and her friends? This father just can’t accept that his son had turned into a monster inside.
Bullying is wrong. Extreme bullying is wrong. I’m 57 and I’ve known bullied people all my life, including my husband, and they didn’t go slaughter their classmates.
can someone translate and post interview
I was born here as a first generation Greek American, I can remember my mothers words to me and my brothers as we went to school “Boys do your best and remember don’t do anything to embarrass your poor mother who loves you with all her heart” Those words still resonate with me today. I believe that the father bares as much responsibility for his Son’s actions as the kid. TOTAL NON CHILD OR PARENTAL RESPECT.
