It was bound to happen— a crowdfunding campaign to help Greece through it’s next round of debt payments of $1.7 billion dollars.
Thom Feeney, a man from London is encouraging his fellow Europeans to give.
“All this dithering over Greece is getting boring. European ministers flexing their muscles and posturing over whether they can help the Greek people of not. Why don’t we the people just sort it instead?
“The European Union is home to 503 million people, if we all just chip in a few Euro then we can get Greece sorted and hopefully get them back on track soon. Easy,” he wrote on the Indiegogo campaign page which as of the writing of this post, has received over 100,000 euros in donations.
As with most crowd funding campaigns, he’s offering all sorts of Greek-related perks if you donate.

Greece has been paying themselves for decades… Until a few years ago, I think they had a retirement age of 55(?) or something in that range. They paid themselves by kicking the bill down to future generations.
