A fourth shipment of humanitarian aid for the people of war-torn Ukraine left Athens on Tuesday.
The aid was sent to the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, where it will be received by Dimitris Dochtsis, Greece’s consul general to the besieged metropolis.
The shipment includes 50 tons of essential supplies, including food with a long shelf life, bottled water, antiseptic, pharmaceutical supplies and three generators, according to a report by the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
The mission was led by the Greek Foreign Ministry with the help of the Region of Attica, the Hellenic Red Cross, Doctors of the World (Hellas) and the supermarket Sklavenitis, along with the support of the Boubouras Foundation.
This mission was team was accompanied by Alexandros Diakopoulos, the Foreign Ministry’s official responsible for humanitarian assistance.
Greece previously sent a shipment of essential supplies to Ukraine on April 3.
The latest aid comes approximately two weeks after Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias pledged that his country would help with reconstruction efforts in Odessa.
