When I launched The Pappas Market years ago, it wasn’t meant to be a “store” in the traditional sense. It was an extension of The Pappas Post—a place where Greek stories could take physical form. A way to share the Greece I knew and loved through objects that carried its soul.
Small-batch foods from Crete. Handmade ornaments. Vintage finds with their own histories. Even creations of my own that started as personal obsessions and somehow bloomed into products. Now, after countless shipments, late-night packing sessions, and beautiful conversations with customers around the world, The Pappas Market is nearing the end of its first life.
On November 30, 2025, the shop will officially close.
Until then, every item on the site remains available—and all orders placed before November 30 will ship immediately and arrive in time for Christmas. This is a farewell, yes. But it’s also the prelude to something bigger.
A Final Look at the Collection
As we approach closing day, I’m taking a final pause to honor some of the pieces that made The Pappas Market what it is.
The Papadomanolakis Collection from Crete
This line was my tribute to Crete— my family’s island and the place that shaped so much of my identity. Each product in the collection was chosen with intention, sourced for its purity, flavor, and authenticity:
Wild Oregano harvested from the rocky Cretan hills, intensely aromatic and unlike anything found in a supermarket jar. Cretan Mountain Tea (Malotira), the gentle, floral infusion served in villages for everything from colds to calm. Wild Thyme, gathered from high-altitude fields where the plant grows untouched and powerful. Pure Cretan Honey, thick and golden, reflecting the herbs and flowers that feed the bees of western Crete. Unprocessed Cretan Sea Salt, harvested naturally from the coastline—crisp, clean, and true to place.
The Papadomanolakis Collection wasn’t built through catalogs or distributors. It was built through travel, curiosity, taste, and a commitment to sharing the real thing.
Handmade European Glass Ornaments
Another favorite: the Christmas ornaments. Made in a European workshop that has been producing traditional glass ornaments for generations, these pieces bring a touch of Greek nostalgia to the holidays. Whether it’s a blue-and-white Santa, the Evzone or Amalia, each ornament is hand-blown, hand-painted, and takes days to make. Click here to shop the collection.
Vintage Hermes Scarves
One of the most exciting additions to the Market this year was a rare set of 1980s Greek-inspired Hermes scarves—designed by Julie Abadie to commemorate the Greek Revolution of 1821. Bold, intricate, and now highly collectible, these pieces have appeared at auction for thousands of dollars. Finding them in pristine condition was a treasure hunt victory. The Tassos Folk Costume Lithographs
Recently, a remarkable mid-century discovery joined the collection: a set of four A. Tassos lithographs from the 1960s, still in their original wooden frames. They depict traditional Greek folk costumes with elegance and dignity, each one a cultural artifact from a Greece that was rapidly modernizing. Sets like this rarely surface intact. These are more than prints— they’re heirlooms.
A Little Thank-You: “Mitso the Evzone”
As a gesture of appreciation, every order placed before the November 30 closing date will include a free “Mitso the Evzone” felt ornament/keychain. A small companion for your tree, your bag, or your desk—and a reminder of how grateful I am for your support throughout this journey.
What Comes Next: Unapologetically Greek
Although The Pappas Market is closing, this is not the end of the story. It’s a pivot—a reset—before the launch of something new.
In 2026, I’ll unveil Unapologetically Greek, a fresh chapter with a new name, new energy, and an even more curated approach to products that carry Greece in their DNA. It will be bolder, more eclectic, more personal— reflecting the stories I encounter, the creators I meet, and the heritage I’m committed to preserving.
The Pappas Market was the beginning.
Unapologetically Greek will be the evolution.
Shop While You Still Can
If you’ve been waiting to buy something…
If you planned to shop for Christmas gifts…
If something caught your eye months ago and you said “next time”…
This is your moment.
All orders must be placed by November 30.
And thank you—for every order, every message, every photo sent of my products in your kitchens, your homes, and your family celebrations. This project has always been about connection, and that’s exactly what will carry forward into the next chapter.
The best is yet to come.
