Toronto Supporters of SOS Children’s Village to Gather for Fundraiser

A group of Toronto-area supporters of the SOS Children’s Villages in Greece are hosting a fundraiser on November 5th to raise funds for the charity that works closely with children and their families.

Reaching for the Stars: Anything is Possible is the brainchild of Voula McLaughlin who has worked tirelessly along with her committee to put on a first rate event to benefit the children of SOS Children’s Villages. This is the second fundraiser the group has hosted. Last year, the gala raised $25,000.

The organizers have doubled their goal this year to raise $50,000 and if they reach that goal, The Hellenic Initiative will match the gift with an additional $50,000. Anyone can donate regardless of if they attend or not. Donations have come from throughout Canada and beyond. Click here to purchase tickets to the event or to make a donation to the cause.

This year’s event featured cooking by Peter Minaki and appearances by comedian Angelo Tsarouchas, singer Arianna Savalas and Olympic gold medalist weightlifter Pyros Dimas.
