The San Francisco Greek Film Festival has announced its in-person and virtual programs for 2022, beginning on Friday, April 8, and running through Saturday, April 16.
This year’s program includes nine full days of in-person screenings at Delancey Screening Room in San Francisco, as well as virtual screenings, to continue the online options which have become popular amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Three hundred and fifty films were submitted for this year’s festival. The final selections include 17 shorts and nine feature films for the in-person festival while 14 shorts, 11 documentaries, and three feature narrative films are available for the virtual program. All films in Greek or other non-English languages are subtitled in English.
Fall 2020 was the festival’s first time presenting virtual screenings, augmented by a drive-in movie presentation, with the same mix presented in spring 2021.
The organizers met the challenges during the pandemic with creativity and determination to fulfill their mission to showcase cinema from the Greek and Cypriot worlds.
