Akis does some interesting things when making his Pastitsio, including adding two eggs into his pasta at the bottom of the casserole before he adds his layer of ground beef.
Pastitsio— known by many as “Greek lasagne” is one of Greece’s national dishes and is usually always made with tubular pasta. Any Greek will tell you that it has to be a specific kind of pasta— Misko brand’s Number 2 tubular pasta.
