Interview: Academy Award Nominated Cinematographer Phedon Papamichael

The Oscar-nominated Greek-American Cinematographer of “Nebraska”, Phedon Papamichael, talks about his early years, his first films, his shooting style, his collaboration with Alexander Payne, George Clooney & James Mangold, his music videos with U2, his colleagues and more.

The interview appears on Momentum, the personal blog of Athens-based filmmaker Alexandros Maragos. Alex has been involved in documentaries, ads and TV projects in various capacities.

Maragos’ latest credits include “Balkan Spirit” (documentary), directed by Hermann Vaske, featuring Angelina Jolie, Marina Abramović and Goran Bregović and “300: Rise of An Empire”. He was also the cinematographer on a documentary called “Love In The Time of Crisis”, a soon-to-be-released film about love and relationships in Greece during the years of crisis.
