The second International Greek Ancestry Conference will take place virtually from January 29-30, hosted by Greek Ancestry and live-streamed on YouTube.

Participants will learn about researching their family history and watch presentations covering modern Greek history and how it impacted their ancestors’ lives.  

The conference’s keynote speaker is Nicholas Gage, a Greek-born American author and investigative reporter. Gage is best known for two books of autobiographical memoirs: The best-selling “Eleni” (1983) and “A Place for Us” (1989). He first achieved fame as an investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal and New York Times and his coverage of the Mafia led to two best-selling books: “The Mafia Is Not An Equal Opportunity Employer” and “Mafia, U.S.A.”

No registration is required and all sessions will be recorded and available within 24 hours after the presentation.

Topics will include: Finding your ancestor’s original surname and village of origin; the Greek diaspora in Egypt; Hellenic Genealogy Geek: New website and resources; the German Occupation and Holocaust in Greece; Heroes ‘Till the End: The Last Moments of Greek Fighters; life in early 20th century Greece and various others.

Various scholars, historians and others will lead the discussions of each topic.
