The Greek Embassy in Kiev has resumed operations in what has been called a gesture of high symbolism.
Greece’s Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday announced that the Greek Embassy in the Ukrainian capital would reopen, with the Greek flag flying again in Kiev.
The embassy, whose staff members had evacuated the city due to security reasons shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, is operating again with the essential staff.
Manolis Androulakis, who was the Consul General of Greece in Mariupol until a few weeks ago, has taken office as Chargé d’ Affaires.
The Embassy, together with the Consulate General in Odessa, which is operating normally, will continue to provide all possible assistance to Greek citizens, as well as to diaspora Greeks in Ukraine.
