Greek-Australian Grandmother Claims Innocence over Massive Cocaine Importation Charges

Australian yiayia

An Australian yiayia (greek grandmother) claims innocence after being charged for alleged cocaine importation. Her house was raided, and a box was found, allegedly “filled with drugs.” She’s one of the oldest south Australians charged with drug trafficking.

Evdocia ‘Effie’ Pehlivanidis, caught on video by 7NEWS Australia with her classic Greek “yiayia” cane, claims she’s never done drugs in her life and hasn’t so much as smoked a cigarette. Asked why the police arrested her, she replied, “I don’t know,” and insists she has nothing to hide.

As the news interviewed Effie, her live-in grandson Kosta pulled up, and he did not seem keen on talking to the reporters Watch the video below.

The details that led to the raid have yet to be revealed.
