Critically acclaimed author, syndicated columnist and renowned businesswoman Arianna Huffington celebrates her birthday today.

Huffington is most well-known for launching her eponymous news and blog site — The Huffington Post — in May 2005.

In August 2016, Huffington launched Thrive Global, a corporate and consumer well-being and productivity platform.

The Greek native entrepreneur has been named to TIME Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people, as well the Forbes Most Powerful Women list.

Originally born as Ariadni-Anna Stasinopoulou in Athens, Greece on July 15, 1950, Huffington moved England at age 16 and graduated from Girton College in Cambridge with a bachelor of arts in economics.

Today, she serves on the board for numerous companies — including Uber, Onex and Global Citizen.

Arianna Huffington has authored multiple New York Times best-sellers, and she is an often-quoted, and highly opinionated political commentator.

One of her best-sellers “Maria Callas: The Woman Behind the Legend” focused on the life of Greek American opera diva Maria Callas, while another title, “Thrive,” introduced the world to Arianna’s new mantra, “The Third Metric of Success,” which refers to the practice of focusing not on power or money, but on personal happiness.
