From the Athens Riviera to Zagorohoria Greek Summer is Thriving: Our Favorite Reader Photos
Facebook and other social media have done wonders for Greek tourism as millions of visitors throughout the world continue to share the beauty of the country with their family, friends and the world on their respective social media accounts.
We love receiving images from readers— as well as watching their travels and living vicariously during the family gatherings and special reunions, during a child’s first encounter with faraway family or brothers and sisters teaming up to make their first sand castle on a beautiful sandy beach.
We’ve gathered some of our favorite shots from readers and friends into a gallery— certainly one of many that we will share— of our favorite #GreekSummer photos from 2016.
As always, we accept photos via email here. Feel free to send your favorites. Although we can’t guarantee that all will be published, we love hearing from you.
And coming soon, we will be launching a new photo contest with a theme of ‘Pilgrimage” (Returning to Greece) with special prizes for the top photos. Details will follow soon but save your best photos!

Matt goes nowhere without Taco… Looks like Taco loves his perch at the Astir Palace. Dad doesn’t look that bothered either.
The sandcastle photos are amongst our favorites.

Spontaneous Cretan dancing in the kitchen with yiayia.
Yiayia has been telling the granddaughters for years that they have a street named after them in Sitia, Crete.
Here, they see it for the first time. Never doubt yiayia.
