Carrying an impressive resume and years of experience, despite his youth, Baltimore attorney Chrysovalantis “Chrys” Kefalas received the endorsement of The Baltimore Sun, the state’s largest newspaper, in his bid for the Republican nomination for the open U.S. Senate seat in Maryland.
“Kefalas for Senate” were the three simple words the newspaper’s editorial boarded to endorse him in their column on April 20th, adding that “If Republicans want their best chance to win a Maryland Senate seat, they should vote Kefalas.”
The endorsement mentions his resume, calling it a “tremendous resume of experience that prepares him to succeed in the Senate.”
Kefalas and two others are vying for the Republican Party’s nomination for the U.S. Senate seat that is open since Sen. Barbara Mikulski announced her retirement.
Upon hearing about the endorsement, Kefalas turned to Facebook to share his feelings and credit his Family for the inspiration.
“Kefalas for Senate … Thank you to everyone for all of your inspiration, encouragement and support. I can’t help but reflect that these words were unimaginable in even the best version of the American Dream that my grandparents, Panagiotis and Chrisanthi Kefalas and George and Triantafilia Minadakis and my great-grandparents, Antonis and Chrisanthi Charalambou–envisioned. And I can’t help but feel that the weight of responsibility, to carry on their legacy, is heavier this morning–to earn these words.”
