Evzones Coming to Philadelphia for Greek Independence Day Parade

The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley have announced that the Evzones will come to Philadelphia for the city’s Greek Independence Day Parade on March 20.

The federation will also host a dignitaries banquet at Adelphia’s on March 19. Event attendees will include Archbishshop Elpidophoros of America, Bishop Apostolos of Medeia, AHEPA Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas, Daughters of Penelope Grand President Kathy Bizoukas, Grand Marshal Honorary Consul General of Panama in Philadelphia Georgia Athanasopoulos and the Eleftheria Award presentation as well to George Horiates.

This year will be Philadelphia’s first Greek Parade during the tenure of Archbishop Elpidophoros and the first Greek Independence Day Parade in the post-pandemic world.

The parade is dedicated to the centennial of the Greek Archdiocese of America and Order of AHEPA.
