Greece’s unemployment rate dropped to 8.3% in April 2025, down from 10.8% in April 2024 (and 8.9% the previous month), according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

The number of unemployed fell to 391,263, marking a 24.7% decrease from April 2024 (128,525 fewer individuals) and a 6.4% decrease compared to March 2025 (26,943 fewer individuals).

Employment figures rose to 4,313,817 people, up by 24,554 compared to April 2024 (an 0.6% increase) and by 28,144 from March 2025 (an 0.7% increase).

By gender, unemployment among women dropped to 10.8% from 13.6% in April 2024, while male unemployment fell to 6.3% from 8.5% for the same period.

Among youth aged 15–24, the unemployment rate declined to 20.4% from 24.2% in April 2024, and among those aged 25–74, it dropped to 7.7% from 10% in April 2024.

Individuals under 75 who are not in the labour force totaled 3,050,528—an increase of 77,322 (or 2.6%) from April 2024, and a marginal decrease of 3,569 (or 0.1%) from the previous month.
