From one of the most iconic New York City Greek bakeries: Traditional melomakarona and kourambiedes are now available for shipment to any address in the continental United States to make your holidays a bit easier, more homemade and authentic.
Nothing beats these homemade cookies which are made with recipes passed down over generations and taste like Greece with every bite.
These melomakarona, kourambiedes and combined sets of both are available from the Olive Grove Market which has partnered with Pi Bakerie in SoHo. Pi is owned by the same proprietors of the beloved Artopolis Bakery in Astoria that once sold the most top-notch baked goods for decades.
Although Artopolis closed its doors in March 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, its bakers still work at Pi, pumping out traditional favorites such as these Christmas staples.
For walk-in guests, Pi offers a host of savory option including spinach, cheese and chicken pies — all recipes from the family’s Greek heritage — but its desserts are the real stars.
Pi’s world-famous melomakarona have been baked and served at corporate functions, state dinners and even royal gatherings in the U.S. and abroad.
Pappas Post Publisher Gregory Pappas once visited the kitchen of Pi Bakerie to meet with its master chef and discover the secrets behind its most beloved sweets.
Each order of melomakarona, kourambiedes and/or a cookie set is a pre-order and is scheduled to arrive the week before Christmas.
ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY MIDNIGHT EST ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 12.
