A new ferry line linking Thessaloniki with the city of Izmir has been launched, offering travelers more options to travel between Greece and Turkey.
In October, Levante Ferries launched the first-ever service between the northern Greek port city and the seaside western Turkish city which is known by Greeks as Smyrna.
The Smyrna di Levante will offer ferry services from Thessaloniki to Izmir every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from Izmir to Thessaloniki every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The trips are expected to take approximately 14 hours.
The ferry has a capacity for 948 passengers, 300 cars and 55 trucks.
Fares start at 81 euros for a seat in the lounge or on deck, with a 10 percent discount for return tickets.
