Alexandroupoli, a port city in northern Greece, will facilitate its “largest transfer of military equipment ever,” as the American vehicle carrier ARC Endurance has arrived, the port authority chairman said on Tuesday.
“Starting today and for seven days we will carry out the largest movement of military equipment that has ever taken place [in Alexandroupoli], advancing militarily within Europe and the USA,” Konstantinos Chatzimichail tweeted.
Chatzimichail described the port authority’s work with the ARC Endurance as “just a small part” of its operations this year.
Having sailed from Charleston, South Carolina, the carrier is delivering the remaining combat power of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade for its Atlantic Resolve rotation.
The US-led Atlantic Resolve is a multinational allied operation that “builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries using multinational training events,” according to the US Department of Defense.
