Like today 73 years ago… Following Greece’s sudden entry into the Second World War when the Italians invaded in October of 1940 and a historic defense, the Nazis were forced to invade Greece and clean up what was called “Mussolini’s Mess.” The German army entered northern Greece in early April and the Greek capital fell on April 27, 1941 with the raising of the Nazi flag on the Acropolis.
