As Greek summer ends and the country’s quieter tourism months begin, round trip tickets starting as low as $551 are now available from various major US cities to Greece.
Similar tickets can cost at least $1,200 to $1,500 during peak season, but multiple airlines are offering lower fares as demand decreases from November to May 2023. Exceptions remain for holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The discounted flights are typically for basic economy class and, depending on the airline, may require additional fees for checked baggage and seat selection.
Greece’s weather is much cooler in the late fall and winter, but its busiest tourist sites become less crowded which makes for easier access. Certain hotels may be closed during the period, which is considered “off-season.”
According to an article by The Points Guy, airlines offering cheaper US-Greece flights include Air Canada, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International, Finnair, Delta, United, SAS and Lufthansa.
Cities with available routes to multiple Greek destinations include New York, Washington, Boston, Miami, Newark, San Francisco and Los Angeles, among others. All routes exclude Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The Points Guy recommends users to search via Google Flights and book directly though the chosen airline’s website.
