A Year-End Note From Me to You

As we wrap up another year together, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this little corner of the internet has become. The messages I receive—from Sydney to Stuttgart, Montreal to Mykonos—remind me daily why The Pappas Post exists.

You tell me you’ve learned something new, discovered pieces of your own story, reconnected with family, cooked dishes that brought back memories, or planned trips inspired by the images and stories we share.

That’s the magic right there. This platform has turned into a gathering place for anyone who loves Greece, wants to stay connected to it, or simply wants to understand it more deeply. I’ve always described The Pappas Post as “the world of Greece in English,” and this year, more than ever, I’ve felt how true that is.

Over the past months, I’ve been exploring ways to expand what we offer—more voices, more perspectives, more original reporting and storytelling. But growth comes with realities: servers cost money, security costs money, the tools we rely on cost money, and producing meaningful, trusted content takes time.

One thing hasn’t changed—and never will: The Pappas Post will remain free to read. No paywalls. No “premium” articles locked behind a subscription. I genuinely believe that information, culture, and stories that help us understand who we are and where we come from should remain accessible to everyone.

But keeping this platform alive and thriving takes resources. And at the end of the day, independent publishing only survives because people who value the work choose to support it.

So as we close out 2025, if The Pappas Post has informed you, entertained you, connected you, or inspired you this year… I’m asking you to consider helping us continue this work.

Your support directly fuels the stories, reporting, culture, and community connection that make this space what it is.
