A notorious Greek restaurant on Mykonos has come under scrutiny from the Trip Advisor website, hitting the beachfront establishment with a rare “safety warning”.
Tripadvisor has added the warning to its website review page for DK Oyster Bar on the popular island of Mykonos after an outpouring of complaints ranging from rip-off prices to bullying tactics used to force customers into paying up.
DK Oyster is located on Platy Yalos beach.
“Tripadvisor has been made aware of recent media reports or events concerning this property which may not be reflected in reviews found on this listing,” its warning says.

The warning comes after dozens upon dozens of complaints from tourists from all corners of the earth, many of which made newspaper headlines for exorbitant costs, bullying by waiters and sketchy pricing, bilking customers out of thousands of dollars.
Many of the customer experiences are noted on the website’s comments section, with travel horror stories including one couple being threatened after challenging the high cost of the bill.
American tourists Brenda Moulton and her daughter Kaylea were also surrounded by waiters when they refused to pay the enormous $866 tab for two drinks and a portion of crab legs.
They reluctantly paid up after being threatened by the bar’s manager, who told them: “You will not return to your homeland. We can easily find where you live.”
