First Fully Greek Electric Scooter Gets EU Type Approval, Begins Market Rollout

A new chapter in Greek innovation and electric mobility is unfolding with the launch of NOOS—the first electric scooter to be entirely designed, developed, and manufactured in Greece. The vehicle is the creation of ECOSHIFT, a subsidiary of the historic Petros Petropoulos Group, which manufactures, modifies, distributes, and supports a wide range of automotive products.

NOOS has successfully passed all required quality, safety, and environmental compliance checks necessary for EU type approval, enabling its commercial rollout across the European Union. It has also received national certification from the Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and is in the final stages of preparation for market launch in Cyprus.

The scooter will be offered in two variants: a lower-powered version with a top speed of just under 28 mph (45 km/h), which can be operated with a standard car driver’s license, and a high-performance version reaching up to 50 mph (80 km/h), available to those with a motorcycle license. Power output ranges from 3 to 5 kW, with a driving range between 37 and just over 74 miles (60–120 km) on a single charge.

The project began as an independent startup and was integrated into the Petros Petropoulos Group two years ago. Since then, it has received financial support both from the group itself and from the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility. Now officially included in the third iteration of Greece’s national EV subsidy program, NOOS represents a significant leap forward in Greek green technology and sustainable urban transport.
