The Hellas National Softball Team is holding its Winter Selection Camp from December 26-30 in Tarpon Springs, Florida, in preparation for the European Women’s Championship in July 2022.
“We’re extremely excited about our upcoming winter camp, getting back on the field and welcoming new and existing athletes to our program,” Coach Tony Foti told The Pappas Post. “We look forward to meeting and working with Mayor Chris Alahouzos, Reverend Father Athanasios Haros and the vibrant Greek community of Tarpon Springs.”
Foti says his team is aiming to win the 2022 European Championship in Barcelona, Spain, from July 24-30.
Tarpon Springs Mayor Chris Alahouzos greeted the team while commending its winter camp organizers.
“I would like to commend the organizers for the hard work that goes into coordinating this event and [offer] our best wishes for a successful and enjoyable camp,” Alahouzos said. “We wish you all the best of luck in your quest for the championship in 2022.”
The Hellas National Team Program is the official national team of the Hellas Softball Federation. The federation holds annual camps and invites all athletes with Greek heritage, 15 years or older, to attend.
