A unique moment unfolded at the Peace and Friendship Stadium as Olympiacos basketball fans participated in a ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ ahead of their EuroLeague game against Fenerbahçe.
Just before tip-off, thousands of plush toys were thrown onto the court in response to a call from Olympiacos B.C., turning the sporting event into an act of collective generosity.
Volunteers from the Hellenic Red Cross (HRC) collected and packaged the stuffed toys, which will then be distributed to children benefiting from HRC’s social programs, as well as to institutions and charities across Greece that the organization assists.
