(Photos) New Yorkers Celebrate Greek Independence Day with Massive Fifth Avenue Parade

Thousands of New Yorkers celebrated the continent’s largest Greek celebration today, April 10, 2016, with a massive parade down Fifth Avenue in the heart of Manhattan.

The parade was comprised of 99 floats representing area churches, schools, Greek societies, businesses and marching bands.

New York City mayor Bill DeBlasio spoke passionately at the parade grandstand about Greece and the need for Americans to stand by Greece in its time of need.
