Watch the Stunning Trailer for the New Film About Nikos Kazantzakis

Coming soon to a theater near you— if you live in Greece— is Giannis Smaragdis’ latest epic film Kazantzakis, about one of the greatest modern Greek writers ever, Nikos Kazantzakis.

No stranger to epic films, Smaragdis is one of Greece’s most prolific and award-winning directors who has directed and produced films like El Greco and God Loves Caviar, a biopic about the famous pirate-turned business tycoon Ioannis Varvakis.

Kazantzakis will be released in theaters in Greece in November. No plans yet for international distribution but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the release of what looks to be a monumental film.

In the meantime enjoy these teasers that reveal stunning cinematography from various locations throughout Greece.
