A WTF? Moment When a Greek Journalists Asks All Star Coach Steve Kerr an Awkward Question About Giannis Antetokounmpo

The question may have been lost in translation— or simply misunderstood, but it was an awkward moment when a Greek journalist asked Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr a strange question about Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Kerr will serve as the head coach of the Western Conference and included on his line up is Antetokounmpo, who hails from Greece and currently plays for the Milwaukee Bucks.

At a press conference in New Orleans, where the NBA All Star Game will take place this Sunday, Kerr fielded a wide range of questions about his squad— including a zinger from a Greek reporter from COSMOTE TV who asked Kerr if he thought it was an oxymoron that Antetokounmpo was a black Greek.

Kerr didn’t answer the question.

Cosmote TV distanced itself from the journalist’s question, issuing a statement that his question wasn’t consistent with the values of the network.

The TV network has since pulled the journalist from covering the All Star Game in New Orleans.
