After making a prominent name for himself in Greece as an accomplished filmmaker with hit film after hit film, Christoforos Papakaliatis has joined the elite group of Greek artists and entertainers that have hit… the global big time.
His popular drama series “Maestro,” which initially aired on Greek television to popular acclaim was picked up by Netflix– the first Greek series to be picked up by the global streaming giant.
Less than a week after the series premiered, it hit the global 10 of programs streaming on Netflix.
These things don’t happen because of advertising or marketing. They happen because people like what they see and usually, they tell their friends, or share something on their social media channels.
The show is set in Greece on the island of Paxos. It follows a musician by the name of Orestis, who arrives on the island during the pandemic to organize a music festival at the request of Fanis, a businessman running for mayor. But once Orestis lands on the island of Paxos, he experiences an unexpected romance and finds himself involved with the islanders’ problems.
Papakaliatis is the lead actor/writer/director of the series.
