Not much surprises us these days, except for when a famous reggae singer releases a song in collaboration with a Greek artist known best for singing popular Greek bouzouki music.
Julian Marley, son of the late reggae legend Bob Marley, has released a Greek song in collaboration with Stamatis Gonidis.
The song, called “Μόνος Μου Μπορώ” (Monos Mou Boro, or “I can do alone”), features vocals from both artists, blending Marley’s signature style with, well, Greek popular music. Watch the video below.
Gonidis, who is 65, hails from the island of Kythnos and is well-known in Greece’s bouzoukia circuit. He spent part of his life as a sailor before becoming a singer.
Again – not the collab we were expecting, but what a testament to the power of music to bring people together.

So our elders decried the “hiipes” and “bitlas” (Beetles) long hair and beards, but they now embrace filthy bearded hippies called monks?
