Yia Mas Launches Accessible Global Greek Dance Course

A new initiative by cultural wellness platform Yia Mas is bringing the experience of Greek dance beyond geographic borders, and transforming it into a shared cultural celebration for communities worldwide.

This fall, Yia Mas is offering its first official Greek Dance 101: A Global Greek Dance Club, an online five-week course that blends practical instruction with cultural insight. The course is designed for anyone over 18, from anywhere in the world, and for all levels, from beginners to those seeking to refine their technique.

The course promises to equip students with the confidence to dance like a true Greek for any occasion. Lessons will cover wedding and event-ready basics, regional dances and zeibekiko, as well as dancefloor etiquette and mindful movement techniques drawing on the instructor’s background in classical dance and yoga.

Classes will take place live via Zoom at 11 a.m. EST on Saturdays, beginning October 18. Recordings will also be provided, making the course flexible for those unable to attend live.

Early registration is open until October 3. After that date, enrollment will be available until registration closes on October 18.
